Cryptocurrency Companies Including Ripple and Coinbase Donate $189 Million for U.S. Midterm Elections

On July 1, according to data from Public Citizen, Ripple, Coinbase, and other cryptocurrency companies contributed $189 million for the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. The cryptocurrency sector accounted for 37% of the total $517 million in corporate political donations. Previously, during the 2024 U.S. presidential election, political donations from the cryptocurrency industry were approximately $160 million, with the sector accelerating its lobbying efforts after the Trump administration took office to seek to solidify regulatory relaxations.
