Private bus operators in Kozhikode, India, have intensified their protest against the government's Priyadarshini free travel scheme for women in KSRTC buses, fearing it will derail their business and cause financial distress. The Kerala Private Bus Operators Association has staged a hunger strike, alleging that the scheme will push hundreds of bus owners and workers into acute distress.
