A CCTV reporter learned on local time July 2 that five wildfires burning in the U.S. state of Colorado had scorched nearly 506 square kilometers of land as of that morning, an area close to the size of Colorado Springs. Among them, the largest wildfire currently in the state, the Aspen Acres fire, had expanded to about 194 square kilometers as of the evening of July 1. The fire ignited on the morning of June 29 in southern Colorado. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said the fire had destroyed more than 180 structures and injured one firefighter. Local officials said the Aspen Acres fire has been treated as the highest firefighting priority in the country, and fire departments across the United States are mobilizing supplies and personnel to fight the fire.
