U.S. Military Suspends Search for Naval Soldier Missing After Helicopter Crash in the Arabian Sea


Jin10 Data, July 5 — Local time on the 5th, the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command announced on social media that the U.S. Navy had, at 15:00 local time on the 5th, suspended its active search operation for a missing U.S. naval soldier. The statement said the missing person belonged to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 5 and was deployed on the “George H.W. Bush” aircraft carrier at the time of the incident. On July 1, local time, after an MH-60S “Seahawk” helicopter made an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea, the soldier went missing. The U.S. Navy said that within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force carried out a continuous large-scale joint search and rescue operation for more than 102 hours, covering over 14,000 square miles, and then ended the active search.
