In the past three days, the US has escorted 70 commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, a decrease from the pre-conflict daily average of 138 ships. From July 2 to 4, the number of escorted ships declined, with 33 vessels on July 2, 29 on July 3, and 18 on July 4. The Strait of Hormuz has two shipping lanes, one near Oman and the other controlled by Iran. The overall danger level in the strait is considered "high" due to the risk of mines and ongoing mine clearance operations. Additionally, continuous interference with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) poses a threat to maritime safety. The reduced number of escorted ships may indicate a shift in maritime activity in the region. The situation remains volatile, with potential risks to shipping and trade
