In a bid to combat drug trafficking and repeat offenders, the police in Kozhikode, India, have stepped up scrutiny of rental properties following intelligence inputs that these properties are being used to store smuggled drugs and other narcotic substances. The operation, dubbed 'Toofan', aims to disrupt the activities of criminal elements exploiting the rental market.
