CoinWorld news: According to Vietnam’s *Youth Newspaper*, the Investigative Security Bureau (a09) of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, in a case involving alleged misappropriation of property on the ONUS cryptocurrency exchange, seized more than 350 kilograms of gold and silver, froze transactions involving 8 properties, and froze more than 300 bank accounts. The amount involved is 2000 billion Vietnamese dong. The police filed criminal proceedings against 8 defendants on March 23, charging them with using computer networks to commit property embezzlement and money laundering. From 2018 to 2021, the persons involved collectively sold cryptocurrencies worth more than 7 trillion Vietnamese dong. They have opened approximately 5 million user accounts. The police have received more than 2000 reports and are currently investigating whether social media influencers were involved in promoting the scheme.
