CoinWorld news, citing a report from Russia’s Sputnik news agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin said that Europe is currently unlikely to offer constructive ideas for mediating the Ukraine issue. He said: “Recently, European leaders have repeatedly mentioned the need to ‘talk’ with Russia. The purpose is first to address the Ukraine crisis, but at the same time they have been constantly urging a ‘strategic strike’ against our country. This twisted logic undoubtedly shows that Europe is currently unlikely to come up with any constructive ideas.”

After all, the Ukraine issue ultimately comes down to how the US and Russia wrestle with each other, while Europe has limited say.

So now it's just a stage of passing the buck to each other, and real mediation is still far off.
