He believes that blockchain can help asset managers build customized portfolios for individual investors at scale and optimize back-office processes such as transfer agency and settlement. Sy added that stablecoins are becoming the entry point for traditional financial institutions to go on-chain, which may drive demand for institutional-grade tokenized investment products in the future. However, for institutions to participate in decentralized finance (DeFi), infrastructure such as tokenized collateral, central clearing, and prime brokerage still needs to mature.
