PFP, when it comes down to it, is just an image. But some people are willing to pay membership fees and get community access for it. In the end, what they're buying isn't the image, but the feeling of "I'm part of this group." Is it worth it in the long run? I've seen people spend tens of ETH on a monkey three years ago, and now they can't even be bothered to change their profile picture. I've also seen project teams vanish after minting NFTs, leaving on-chain addresses cleaner than my takeout order history.

Those data tools lately are pretty funny too. They slap on a bunch of labels, but by the time you figure out what the "smart money" is doing, they've already switched wallets. Lag is the norm, being misled is the daily routine. I don't believe in any "on-chain real-time signals" anymore anyway. The real signals you can't even see; what you can see are the ones they want you to see.

Membership-based brands, I think, have potential. But they have to actually deliver value—not just put a channel in Discord and call it a day. I may talk a lot, but the money is my own.
