Liaoning: Expanding 'AI + Ocean' Application Scenarios and Exploring Quantum Technology in Marine Science

On July 2, the Liaoning Provincial Government recently issued the 'Liaoning Province 14th Five-Year Plan for Marine Economic Development.' The plan emphasizes accelerating digital and intelligent transformation. It aims to strengthen the construction of a 'Digital Ocean,' systematically layout marine digital infrastructure, enhance the integration and standardization of data resources from marine observation and monitoring, satellite remote sensing, and drone aerial photography, and build an integrated marine information collection and transmission network across air, land, and sea. The plan also promotes the construction of the Northern Marine Data Application Engineering Center, establishes a comprehensive application service platform for large models in the vertical fields of the Bohai and Yellow Seas, and strengthens the safe utilization of marine data elements. Furthermore, it deepens the integration and application of new-generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and the Internet of Things in the marine field, expands 'AI + Ocean' application scenarios, and explores the application of quantum technology in marine science.
