Iran warns extra-regional countries not to create a crisis in the Strait of Hormuz
BlockBeats message. On July 4, according to Xinhua News Agency, British Prime Minister Starmer and French President Macron issued a joint statement on the 3rd, saying the two countries will cooperate with Oman to ensure the safety of navigation in their sovereign territorial waters.
On July 4, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Garibabadi responded, saying the Strait of Hormuz is not a place for military demonstrations by non-regional countries, and Iran opposes any military action that could affect the safety of this waterway. As the security guarantor of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will remain highly vigilant regarding relevant military movements. Security in the Strait of Hormuz should be jointly maintained by the coastal countries, and any actions that create a crisis will bear the consequences on the parties involved themselves. He also emphasized that the above warning “is serious.”
