PRICE and Tata Sons just dropped a report on where India's money actually lives.


Chandigarh shows up on both lists, highest income and highest spending. Bengaluru tops income but isn't even top 3 in spending; that gap is tech salary going into savings and investments, not local consumption.
Top 100 cities: less than 20% of India's population. Over a third of the national income. 31% of consumption.
That is not urbanization. Concentration.
