A large-scale forest fire occurred in northeastern Spain.

On the evening of July 3 local time, a large-scale forest fire broke out in the northeastern Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia, burning approximately 2,300 hectares. The fire has not yet been brought under control. Nearly 10,000 residents have been evacuated or advised to take shelter at home, and multiple highways have been temporarily closed. Local police said one person has been detained on suspicion of arson. Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have been caused by sparks from equipment used during road construction, and the specific cause is still under investigation.
