Recently, Mingyang Baotou Weijun’s 1.5 million-kilowatt independent energy storage power station’s 500 kV collection substation has successfully completed all tests and was officially put into operation. As the 500 kV energy storage collection substation with the highest voltage level in China and the largest supporting single-unit energy storage scale, as well as a benchmark project in the national energy storage sector, the commissioning and deployment of this project will help address the shortcomings in the high-voltage energy storage grid supporting infrastructure in the Mengxi region, further improve Baotou City’s integrated source-grid-load-storage energy industrial layout, and inject strong and lasting momentum into regional energy-structure optimization, the construction of a new power system, and green and low-carbon development.
