Wu Says learned from CCTV News that the Shanghai Baoshan District Procuratorate recently disclosed a telecom fraud case. The defendant Huang (born in 2000), believing in "overseas high-salary recruitment" information, illegally crossed the border to Myawaddy, Myanmar in October 2022 to participate in fraud, inducing victims to invest in cryptocurrencies through disguised identities for "pig butchering" scams. In March 2025, Huang was repatriated to China. While released on bail pending trial, he again illegally crossed the border to Cambodia to engage in related criminal activities until he fled back to China in January 2026. After trial, the Shanghai Baoshan District Court sentenced Huang to two years and six months in prison for fraud on June 10, 2026, along with a fine of 30,000 RMB.
