Stablecoin infrastructure provider Crossmint announced that it has obtained authorization as a Payment Institution (PI) under the EU's Payment Services Directive (PSD2). Previously, Crossmint had received a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). With the completion of this PSD2 authorization, Crossmint becomes the first stablecoin infrastructure provider in the EU to operate under both the MiCA and PSD2 core regulatory frameworks.
