Shenchao TechFlow news: On July 04, Micron Technology officially kicked off the expansion project for its Western Japan plant. The project’s total investment is 1.5 trillion yen, which will be used to produce advanced memory chips.



This expansion is part of its global capacity expansion plan, aiming to meet demand from the artificial intelligence industry. The Japanese government can provide subsidies of up to 500 billion yen to help share the construction costs. The expanded plant is expected to begin operations and ship products around the summer of 2028. (Jinshi)
