My mom suddenly asked me yesterday, "Do you need to pay taxes on that 'crypto trading' of yours?" I was taken aback and said, "Mom, don't worry about that for now. Just save my transaction records first..."

To be honest, when I was sorting out my taxes at the end of the year, I realized that the CSV downloads from exchanges sometimes lack fields, and on-chain records are a total mess. I've learned my lesson now. After every trade, I take a screenshot and keep a simple Excel log with the date, coin type, and approximate cost. I jot it down for now. I also don't understand those new concepts like modular blockchain. The developers being excited doesn't concern me, but the tax authorities getting excited really scares me. Anyway, let's leave it at that. I just don't want to be staring at my wallet address next March with no clue.
