According to the official notification email received by Revolut users, the platform will stop supporting USDT at 12:00 GMT on August 31, 2026. At that time, users will no longer be able to hold USDT in their Revolut accounts. Before the deadline, they can sell or withdraw USDT to an external crypto wallet; any USDT not processed by the deadline will be automatically converted to the user's account base currency. The notification states that this move aims to provide a "safe, transparent, and responsible trading experience." With the implementation of the EU's MiCA stablecoin regulatory framework, multiple European platforms have successively delisted or restricted USDT services, and Revolut's adjustment is expected to be related to relevant compliance requirements.

The deadline is August 2026, giving over two years of buffer time, which is considered more than enough.

After MiCA came into effect, USDT's days in Europe have indeed been tough, and Revolut's move is not unexpected.

Luckily, I already switched my stablecoins to USDC, saving me the hassle.

Tether's compliance pressure is growing, and Circle is probably laughing to itself.

The automatic conversion to the main currency feels a bit forced; what if I didn’t want to sell at that time?
