Katalyst launches robotic spacecraft to rescue aging satellites, demonstrating new orbital capture technology.

Jinse Finance reported that on July 3, NASA and Arizona-based startup Katalyst launched a robotic spacecraft over the Pacific Ocean on Thursday. The mission is to rescue an aging NASA observation satellite while showcasing a new orbital capture technology. The half-ton spacecraft, named LINK, was built specifically to save the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory satellite, which is valued at $500 million. It will capture the damaged satellite and send it to a higher, more stable orbit, potentially extending its service life by several years. (Jin10)
