EGA electrolytic aluminum has resumed production, with 89 pots restarted.

On July 2, 2026, EGA announced that progress has been made in resuming production at its plant in AI Taweelah, with the removal of anodes from all electrolytic cells fully completed; potline cleaning approximately 90% complete; solidified aluminum blocks in over 20% of cells have been cleared. On May 26, the first repaired electrolytic cell was successfully restarted; as of now, 89 cells are in operation (out of a total of 1,262 cells). (SMM)
