Trump says US-Iran negotiations are making progress: Iran has agreed to almost all key demands, my request is simple — they cannot have nuclear weapons

According to a report on the US Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) website, on the 2nd local time, US President Trump stated that negotiations between the US and Iran are making progress, and he believes Iran has essentially agreed to almost all key demands put forward by the US. The report says that in an interview with CNBC, Trump said: "We are negotiating... I think they have agreed to almost everything we need." Trump added: "We are not seeking regime change. My request is simple — they cannot have nuclear weapons." Trump also defended the recent US military actions against Iran, claiming that Iran has been "completely defeated militarily." He said: "I have defeated them militarily; they are completely defeated militarily. They still have some missiles left, and we can destroy them all. I hit them hard three times last week because they sent a drone to attack a ship." According to mediators from Qatar and Pakistan on July 2, the next round of US-Iran negotiations will be held "as soon as possible" after the funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The report says Khamenei was killed in an attack by the US and Israel on February 28, and his funeral will be held from July 4 to 9.
