Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 03, according to Decrypt, UK Labour MP Phil Brickell has asked the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards to investigate Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, to review whether he engaged in improper lobbying regarding the Bank of England’s cryptocurrency policy after receiving substantial financial support from Tether’s major investor Christopher Harborne.

The report says Farage, during a private meeting with Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey in September 2025, argued against abandoning the launch of the central bank digital currency “Britcoin” and opposed placing limits on individuals’ stablecoin holdings. Christopher Harborne is alleged to hold approximately 12% of Tether equity, and previously provided Farage with an undeclared personal gift of 5 million pounds, and donated approximately 15 million pounds to Reform UK.
