Many people think that once a person climbs to a high position, they will seek revenge, settle scores, and trample on those who once looked down on them.


But in reality, when you actually reach that position, your state of mind changes instead.
Because when the gap truly widens, you realize that the other person doesn't even qualify to be your "opponent."
People only feel hostility toward threats that are close to them, and they won't keep investing emotions in someone who can no longer affect them.
