$BTC The U.S. government is considering banning pregnant foreign nationals from entering the country.

The U.S. government is considering banning pregnant individuals who are not U.S. citizens from entering the country, aiming to restrict "birth tourism."
A statement indicated: "There may be a ban on pregnant women entering the United States. The White House is studying corresponding measures. If implemented, this ban would be another attempt to impose restrictions, as the Trump administration believes that foreign women traveling to the U.S. in their third trimester aim to obtain U.S. citizenship for their children."
The White House stated that "birth tourism" threatens U.S. national security, because children born to foreign nationals in the U.S. may return years later to study at U.S. universities and steal intellectual property.
The newspaper reported that the number of babies born in the U.S. to foreign nationals each year is approximately 20k to 26k.
