Gate Card Points System Launched: Spend to Earn, Grow to Gain Across Six Tier Levels

Gate has officially launched the Gate Card Points System, introducing a structured rewards framework that transforms everyday crypto spending into a compounding value engine. The new system is built around three core capabilities: cashback on spending, points redemption for digital assets, and tier-based growth that rewards increasing engagement. This launch represents a significant evolution from the earlier Gate Card cashback model, adding depth, flexibility, and long-term incentive alignment.

The Points System operates across six tiers (T0 through T5), with cashback rates scaling from 1% to 8% based on VIP level or monthly spending volume. At T0 (VIP 0-4, no minimum spending), users earn 1x points equivalent to 1.00% cashback, with a monthly redemption limit of 500 points (up to 5 USDT equivalent) and a single-transaction limit of 200 points. At T5 (VIP 13-14, minimum $15,000 monthly spending), users earn 8x points for 8.00% cashback, with monthly redemption up to 40,000 points (400 USDT equivalent) and single-transaction limits of 15,000 points. The intermediate tiers bridge these extremes: T1 at 1% (up to 50 USDT monthly), T2 at 2% (up to 100 USDT), T3 at 3% (up to 150 USDT), and T4 at 5% (up to 250 USDT monthly).

A critical design choice: points remain valid indefinitely. There is no expiration, meaning users who exceed their monthly redemption cap can continue accumulating points and redeeming them in future months. This removes the urgency pressure common in many rewards programs and aligns with crypto users' preference for holding rather than spending. Points can be redeemed for digital assets including USDT, GT, BTC, ETH, and USDC, with redeemed assets credited to the user's designated account for subsequent trading, wealth management, or future spending.

The funding source flexibility is another strategic differentiator. Users can seamlessly switch between Simple Earn, Gate Pay, or their Spot balance as the payment funding source for Gate Card transactions. This integration means that funds earning yield in Simple Earn can flow directly into spending without manual transfers, preserving yield while enabling real-world payments. The Gate Card itself operates on the Visa network, accepted at over 150 million merchants worldwide across online and offline channels, with Google Pay integration for contactless convenience and virtual cards available within minutes of application completion.

Tier upgrades take effect the following calendar month and remain valid for the entire month. The dual qualification path (VIP level or monthly spending) ensures that both long-term platform loyalists and new high-volume spenders can access appropriate tier benefits. Since the higher benefit between the two applies, a VIP 8 user who also spends $6,000 monthly would qualify at T3 (the spending threshold) rather than T2 (the VIP threshold), maximizing their cashback rate.

The launch timing is strategic. The stablecoin payments ecosystem is maturing rapidly, with OUSD's consortium launch on June 30 bringing Visa, Mastercard, and 140+ partners into stablecoin-based settlement infrastructure. MiCA enforcement from July 1 has concentrated compliant platforms in the EU. Gate's Points System positions the Gate Card as not just a spending tool but a gateway to compounding value within a regulated, multi-asset ecosystem that spans crypto trading, stock investing, TradFi CFD, and everyday payments.

For users, the practical implications are clear: every eligible purchase now generates points that never expire and can be converted into tradeable digital assets. The 8% cashback ceiling at T5 rivals or exceeds most traditional credit card rewards programs, while the crypto-native redemption options (BTC, ETH, GT) provide upside potential that fiat cashback cannot offer. Combined with Gate's broader product suite including stock trading across 11,000+ securities, TradFi CFD on gold and forex, and staking products yielding up to 13.61% on USD1, the Points System makes the Gate Card a central node in a comprehensive financial ecosystem.
