After watching the performance of veteran Kane in today's England vs. DR Congo match, and comparing it with Son Heung-min's performance in the group stage a few days ago, I instantly understood why the business warfare between exchanges is so fierce.

During their time at Tottenham, Kane and Son Heung-min were known as the most lethal forward duo in Premier League history. The two are also very good friends off the pitch, and their combined assists and goals have exceeded 40.
After Kane transferred to Bayern Munich, Son Heung-min took over as Tottenham's captain and also won the highly prestigious Puskás Award. It can be said that their abilities were once comparable.
However, in today's match, trailing DR Congo by one goal in a desperate situation, veteran Kane stepped up, scoring a brace with two goals to save his team. So far, he has scored five goals in this World Cup.
On the other hand, Son Heung-min has recorded zero goals and zero assists in this year's World Cup, with consistently poor performances in three group stage matches. This is closely related to his early departure from Tottenham to join the MLS, a league with lower competitive standards, in pursuit of comfort and a high salary.
Hard times create strong men, easy times create weak men. In the same World Cup this year, veteran Kane remains as sharp as ever, and Cristiano Ronaldo, seven years older than Son Heung-min, still scored a brace and dominated. Meanwhile, Son Heung-min has already faded into a shadow of his former self, unable to make any significant contribution.
Business is like a battlefield, which makes it easy to understand why competition among exchanges is so fierce. Choosing comfort and abandoning competition allows your territory to be gradually eroded by rivals.
The same applies to people: if you don't advance, you regress. Just like Elon Musk and Pony Ma, they have more money than they could ever spend in ten lifetimes, yet they persist in working hard and striving every day.
