FBI Director Kash Patel Delays Disclosure of Six-Figure MSTR Holdings, Draws Criticism from Government Oversight Agency

Shenzhen TechFlow News, July 2 — According to CoinDesk, FBI Director Kash Patel purchased shares of Bitcoin holding company Strategy (MSTR) between $100k and $250k on November 21, 2025, but did not disclose the transaction to regulators until May 26, 2026, a delay of more than six months, violating the 45-day disclosure deadline under the STOCK Act. Patel later explained to the Office of Government Ethics that the omission was unintentional, resulting from "miscommunication."

Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette of the Project on Government Oversight, a government watchdog group, denounced the act as "unlawful" and called for a complete ban on federal officials trading stocks.
