Complete Guide: Withdrawing from Backpack to Hong Kong Standard Chartered, Airstar Bank, or ZA Bank

Backpack Exchange supports converting USDC to USD at a 1:1 ratio and withdrawing directly to Hong Kong bank accounts via SWIFT wire transfer. Platform fees depend on VIP tier, with some tiers offering free withdrawal limits, usually allowing low-cost or near-zero-cost withdrawals.
Currently, common receiving banks include Hong Kong Standard Chartered Bank and Airstar Bank. These two banks typically do not require an additional intermediary bank, so transfers are more stable and fees are lower.
1. Preparation
Register for Backpack

Or enter 6666 directly in the app for future fee discounts
Note: Be sure to enter this during registration, as it is difficult to add later
Before withdrawing, ensure your Backpack account has completed KYC verification, has sufficient USDC, or you have already converted your assets to USDC.
Also, prepare a Hong Kong bank account with a name identical to your Backpack KYC name. A USD foreign currency account or multi-currency account is recommended for direct USD receipt.
Common receiving banks include:
Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited
Airstar Bank Limited
Before withdrawing, prepare the following information:
Bank account number
Recipient name
Recipient address
Bank SWIFT/BIC code
Bank name
Bank address
The recipient name must exactly match the name on your Backpack KYC, including Chinese/English order and spelling. If the name does not match, the withdrawal may be returned.
Common SWIFT codes are as follows:
Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong): SCBLHKHHXXX
Airstar Bank: AIRRHKHHXXX
Minimum withdrawal amount is usually 100 USD.
Arrival time is typically a few hours to 1 business day, and in some cases may take 1 to 5 business days. For Airstar Bank, actual cases commonly show arrival within 19 hours; Standard Chartered Bank also has relatively stable arrival times.

Go to the withdrawal page and select Cash USD.

For Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), enter SCBLHKHHXXX.

A common address for Airstar Bank is:

Intermediary Bank can usually be left blank. Standard Chartered and Airstar generally do not require an additional intermediary bank.
After confirming the information is correct, click Add. The system will usually send a verification code to your email. Enter the verification code to complete saving the bank account.
3. Formal Withdrawal Steps
Go back to the Backpack withdrawal page and select Cash USD.
Enter the withdrawal amount, which must be at least 100 USD.
Select the newly added Hong Kong bank account.
Check the fee displayed on the page. If your VIP tier has a free allowance, no fee may be shown; if not, the fee will be based on your current tier.
After confirming the information is correct, click Continue.
Complete 2FA verification, usually including Google Authenticator and email verification code.
After successful submission, the system will display the withdrawal record and Reference Number. It is recommended to save this number for future inquiries.
4. Fees and Important Notes
Backpack platform fees depend on VIP tier, which may be related to staking BP, trading volume, or account tier. Some tiers have monthly free withdrawal allowances; beyond that, platform fees may apply.
On the receiving bank side, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) and Airstar Bank usually achieve low or zero intermediary fees, making them common choices.
For large withdrawals, e.g., over 10,000 USD, manual review may be triggered. The platform or bank may require bank statements, proof of address, or source of funds documentation.
For first-time operations, it is recommended to test with a small amount, e.g., 500 to 1,000 USD. Confirm successful arrival before proceeding with larger withdrawals.
Most importantly, your Backpack KYC name must exactly match the name on your Hong Kong bank account. Any discrepancy in name, account number, or SWIFT information may cause withdrawal failure or return.
After arrival, funds usually enter your Hong Kong bank account in USD. You can then convert them to HKD in the bank app or keep them as USD.
5. Frequently Asked Questions
