According to UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the UN Headquarters in New York, artificial intelligence needs a stronger global governance framework because the faster AI develops without shared rules, the less influence governments and the public will have over the outcomes. The United Nations has recently established an independent international AI scientific panel composed of 40 experts from around the world, aiming to help close knowledge gaps and assess the actual impact of AI on the economy and society.
