Claude Fable 5 is finally available starting today.
This is Anthropic's flagship generally available model, built for the hardest coding, agentic workflows, research, and complex knowledge tasks.
It was originally announced on June 9, but deployment was paused just a few days later after new US export controls came into effect.
Those restrictions were lifted yesterday, June 30, and Fable 5 is now rolling out globally across paid plans, the API, and major cloud providers.
It also comes with an upgraded safety classifier that blocks risky requests, including certain cybersecurity exploits, while routing those prompts to Opus 4.8 instead.
Pricing comes in at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
