Citi Lowers BTC and ETH Price Targets: Bitcoin Target at $82,000, Ethereum Target at $2,240

On July 1, Citigroup lowered its expectations for Bitcoin and Ethereum over the next 12 months, reducing the Bitcoin target price from $112,000 to $82,000 and the Ethereum target price from $3,175 to $2,240. Citigroup stated that weakened investor interest, reduced ETF inflows, and a lack of progress in U.S. digital asset legislation have harmed the cryptocurrency outlook. This adjustment is due to its decision to lower the future 12-month ETF net inflow assumption from $10 billion to zero. Citigroup also noted that the slow progress of U.S. cryptocurrency legislation and concerns over digital asset management companies potentially selling Bitcoin have dampened investor sentiment, coinciding with a shift in funds towards AI-related assets.
