Speaking of bridges, it's layers upon layers. When you click confirm, you really have no idea how many "middlemen" you are trusting — the validator set, the multi-sig contract, the server running the relayer, and the consensus of both chains themselves. I used to think IBC was pretty clean — at least you don't have to bet on a bridge's multi-sig — but I've also fallen into the pitfalls of relayer downtime and client expiration.

Recently, I've been hearing a lot about AI agents automatically arbitraging across chains, but I'm more curious: what if it picks a chain where the light node hasn't been updated? Or if the relayer is bribed to feed fake messages? Anyway, when I manually bridge large amounts, I'd rather wait for a few more block confirmations than turn on that "instant transfer." Slow is fine — paper carving, after all, you peel back each layer clearly before moving on.
