ME News, April 24 (UTC+8), ABC News reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that U.S. federal authorities arrested a special forces soldier involved in the arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro on Thursday. The soldier is suspected of profiting over $400k by betting on Maduro's ouster. Sources said federal investigators believe that the commando placed bets of over $33k on the prediction market Polymarket just hours before President Trump announced the capture of Maduro in January. The series of bets yielded over $409k in profit, immediately triggering scrutiny within the prediction market and leading to a months-long insider trading investigation. (Source: ODAILY)
