Abstract generation in progress
ME News, April 24 (UTC+8), CoW DAO proposes a governance draft to establish a discretionary grant program to support victims of the April 14, 2026 cow.fi domain hijacking incident. In this incident, domain registrar Gandi and DNS service AWS Route 53 were exploited via social engineering attacks. Attackers controlled the domain for approximately 4.5 hours and used a phishing site to trick users into signing malicious transactions, resulting in losses of approximately 1.2 million USDC. According to the proposal, funds will be allocated from the legal reserve in a lump sum, with eligible users receiving up to 100% compensation based on their losses at the time of the incident.
