ME News reports that on April 24 (UTC+8), CoW DAO proposed a governance draft to establish a discretionary grant program to support users affected by the cow.fi domain hijacking incident on April 14, 2026.

In this incident, domain registrar Gandi and DNS service AWS Route 53 were exploited via social engineering attacks. The attackers controlled the domain for approximately 4.5 hours and used a phishing website to induce users to sign malicious transactions, causing a loss of approximately 1.2 million USDC.

According to the proposal, funds will be disbursed in a one-time payment from the legal reserve, providing eligible users with compensation of up to 100% of the loss amount at the time of the incident. (Source: MLion)
