Every time the group argues about whether privacy coins are doomed, I quietly open an on-chain explorer to check the actual transfer volume. Data won't argue with you, but it's pretty ironic—the people shouting about decentralization are often the ones most eager to know who's moving large amounts in and out.

To be honest, I don't have a strong stance on compliance. I just think ordinary users need to understand: complete on-chain anonymity and complete glass-like transparency are both false propositions right now. After Tornado was targeted, the deposit and withdrawal patterns of mixers actually exposed behavioral fingerprints even more. Those who know, know.

My expectations are pretty low. I don't chase the myth of anonymity, nor do I pretend I haven't been KYC'd. I split my wallets—large amounts go through custodial services, small amounts roam on-chain. After all, on-chain footprints can't really be washed clean anyway. Recently, the community has been tearing apart. Some act like the sky is falling because of regulation, others think it's long overdue. I'm on neither side. That's it for now—I'm going to watch the aurora.
