Plume subsidiary obtains Bermuda BMA compliance license, ushering in an era of trillion-dollar on-chain asset management.

ME News message, May 21 (UTC+8), global leading institutional asset open finance platform Plume announced that its subsidiary Kimber Digital Assets Bermuda (KDAB) has officially obtained a Class M digital asset business license issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). This development marks Plume’s official entry into the ranks of top-tier compliant financial institutions such as Circle and Coinbase, and the launch of the world’s first large-scale, regulated on-chain asset vault.

The on-chain evolution of ETFs: Inclusive for global investors Plume’s KDAB vault is regarded as the “on-chain evolution of the ETF model.” The emergence of ETFs in the 1990s realized the democratization of investing, and Plume is bringing this model into the Web3 era through the Nest protocol. Users only need a smartphone and stablecoins to access compliant financial products backed by high-quality assets from mainstream markets such as the United States and Hong Kong, from anywhere in the world, around the clock, without the need for a traditional securities brokerage account.

Financial-grade regulation and security architecture Based on Bermuda’s advanced Digital Asset Business Act 2018, KDAB’s vault adopts an innovative incorporated segregated account (ISA) structure to ensure statutory bankruptcy remoteness and asset security. In addition, KDAB introduces continuous cryptographic verification of collateral proof provided by Bluprynt, and achieves protocol-level AML screening functions directly embedded into tokens, with outstanding performance in intercepting illegal transactions.

Accelerating the digitalization of global assets Plume co-founder Chris Yin noted that just as ETFs made assets within reach by changing their “packaging,” Plume is reshaping this process on-chain, opening a window for hundreds of millions of people worldwide who have not been able to access traditional financial services. At the same time, this compliant pathway also provides a bridge for U.S. asset managers to reach global investors without having to rebuild infrastructure repeatedly.

Currently, Plume has more than $350 million in distributed asset value, serving more than half of the world’s RWA holders. With the approval of the BMA license, Plume will, in the near term, roll out a series of new compliant vault products supported by top institutions such as Apollo and WisdomTree. (Source: Plume)
