Abstract generation in progress
ME News: On April 24 (UTC+8), Paradigm-backed Succinct Labs released an iPhone camera app called ZCAM, which uses cryptographic technology to generate "digital fingerprints" for photos and videos, addressing the risk of forgery posed by AI-generated content. ZCAM signs images at the moment of capture, creating an immutable record, and binds the content to the capturing device, allowing users to independently verify whether the material comes from a real device, has been tampered with, or was generated by AI. Unlike solutions that rely on AI detection, Succinct chooses to start from the device hardware layer, generating a unique cryptographic signature for each shot. The company states that existing AI detection tools are prone to failure, while this approach improves the reliability of authenticity verification. Similar projects include World, which mitigates risks by distinguishing real humans from AI identities. (Source: ChainCatcher)
