ME News, June 30 (UTC+8), June 30, 2026, Tesla launched the first batch of production Cybercab engineering tests on public roads in Austin. The vehicles have no steering wheel or pedals, are equipped with safety supervisors, and Musk released a real-shot video. From the concept car debut in October 2024 to actual road operation, it took about 20 months. Currently not open to passengers, 34 Cybercabs are deployed in the city center to verify hardware reliability. The Cybercab is a two-seat model, built entirely around autonomous driving with no post-modification.
