United States OFAC Sanctions Cambodian Senator Kok An and His Associated Network

ME News, April 24 (UTC+8), the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has added Cambodian Senator Kok An to its sanctions list, alleging he controls multiple "scam compounds" and imposing sanctions on 28 individuals and entities within his network. The scams involved fake investment platforms that used emotional relationships to lure victims into transferring crypto assets and promising high returns, resulting in millions of dollars in losses for U.S. victims.
