EU MiCA New Regulations: Germany and France Lead, Five Countries Without Crypto Licenses
As of June 29, the EU has issued 244 MiCA crypto-asset service provider licenses, with 57 in Germany and 26 in France, accounting for approximately 23% and 11% respectively, and the two countries combined account for over one-third. Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, and Romania have no licenses yet. Poland is special due to the lack of a local complete licensing system, and the president has vetoed relevant bills three times. The MiCA transition period will end on July 1, 2026, and unauthorized entities must cease operations in an orderly manner and protect clients.
