The 12th Global Blockchain Summit will kick off in Shanghai on September 23.

During Shanghai Blockchain Week, various activities such as technical workshops, project roadshows, academic seminars, and ecosystem parties will also be held simultaneously at multiple landmarks across Shanghai.

This year's summit is themed "Blockchain New Economy · Smart Chain Symbiosis." Since the inaugural summit in 2015, themed "Blockchain New Economy · Blueprint," kicked off in Shanghai, the summit now enters its 12th edition. According to the announcement, past speakers include Li Lihui, former President of Bank of China; Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum; Xiao Feng, Chairman of Wanxiang Blockchain; Zeng Ming, former Chief Strategy Officer of Alibaba; Nick Szabo, the "Father of Smart Contracts"; Silvio Micali, Turing Award winner; Gavin Wood, founder of Polkadot; Juan Benet, founder of Protocol Labs; Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana; and Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink.

The announcement states that this year's summit topics will focus on current issues such as the symbiotic logic between AI and blockchain, the substantive shift in traditional finance, the new landscape of stablecoins and payments, and the path to scaling RWA. Registration for the 2026 Shanghai Blockchain International Week series of events is now open globally, with an early bird ticket price of 499 RMB.
