My Prediction: Norway 2-1 Côte d'Ivoire

Polymarket:
• Côte d'Ivoire 3.70x / 27% • Draw 3.57x / 28% • Norway 2.17x / 46%
24H volume: $3.66M
The market has Norway as a clear favorite at 46%, and that is the correct side. But this is not a walkover. Côte d'Ivoire has the athletes to hurt any team on a break. Still, after 90 minutes Norway’s structure and Haaland factor should be enough.
Côte d'Ivoire – Strengths / Weaknesses
Strengths: Pure physicality and AFCON-winning core. Sébastien Haller is a real target man, holds play up and scores in the box. Franck Kessié and Ibrahim Sangaré dominate midfield duels. Wilfried Zaha and Simon Adingra give 1v1 threat on both wings. Set pieces are dangerous, Evan Ndicka and Ousmane Diomande attack every ball. They play with confidence now, no fear factor.

Weaknesses: Defensive shape under sustained pressure. Fullbacks Serge Aurier and Ghislain Konan are attack-minded and leave space behind. Keeper Yahia Fofana is young and error-prone. Build-up is direct, so if Norway presses high they win turnovers in dangerous areas. Discipline is an issue, they collect cards and concede fouls around the box. No Ødegaard-level passer to control tempo.
Norway – Strengths / Weaknesses
Strengths: Two world-class pieces. Martin Ødegaard is one of the best playmakers in the world, and Erling Haaland needs half a chance. Alexander Sørloth gives a second physical striker off the bench or next to Haaland. Midfield with Sander Berge and Patrick Berg covers ground and wins second balls. They are excellent on set pieces, Haaland and Sørloth are 1.95m. Mentality is solid, they do not panic if they concede first.

Weaknesses: Depth drops off fast. If Ødegaard or Haaland is shut down, Plan B is long balls to Sørloth. Fullbacks Julian Ryerson and David Møller Wolfe are the weak links, Zaha and Adingra can roast them 1v1. Center backs Leo Østigård and Kristoffer Ajer are strong but slow vs Haller. Norway also struggles vs compact mid blocks, they sometimes force it to Haaland and lose rhythm.
Match scenario
Norway tries to control with 56% possession. Côte d'Ivoire sits in a 4-2-3-1 and hunts counters.
19’ GOAL 0-1 Côte d'Ivoire: Kessié wins it in midfield, quick ball to Zaha, cuts inside, shoots, deflection off Ajer, in.
Norway does not panic. Ødegaard starts finding pockets.
34’ GOAL 1-1 Norway: Ødegaard through ball, Haaland splits the CBs, slots past Fofana.
Second half Norway raises tempo. Côte d'Ivoire legs get heavy.
71’ GOAL 2-1 Norway: Corner, Ødegaard delivery, Sørloth header saved, Haaland taps in the rebound.
Last 20 minutes Côte d'Ivoire pushes. Haller heads wide at 83’. Norway runs the clock with Ødegaard keeping the ball.

Score: Norway 2-1 Côte d'Ivoire
Odds and strategy
Norway 2.17x is fair value. My model: 48% Norway, 27% Draw, 25% Côte d'Ivoire. The market is slightly underrating Norway here. Best play is Norway to win straight. If you want odds, Norway Win + Over 1.5 around 2.60x fits the script. Both Teams To Score is strong, Côte d'Ivoire scores in 9 of last 11 vs top-25 teams. Côte d'Ivoire 3.70x is tempting but needs Zaha + Haller to have perfect games. Draw 3.57x is live if Norway starts slow, but I think they edge it.

Summary: This is Haaland + Ødegaard quality vs Ivorian athleticism. Over 90 minutes, the two guys who play for Arsenal and Man City decide it. Côte d'Ivoire makes it hard and scores one, but Norway’s set piece edge and final ball wins 2-1.
