Abstract generation in progress

Jinse Finance reports that Ethereum Layer2 project Loopring has issued an announcement stating that Loopring DEX will cease all trading, and the Relayer service will also be taken offline simultaneously, as the project enters its closure phase. The Loopring team stated that due to the lack of virtual machine support in its early architecture, the project was unable to achieve smart contract composability and broader payment scenarios, leading to a long-term failure to achieve large-scale adoption. As modern zkEVM solutions gradually achieve compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts, the advantages of the previous dedicated architecture have been weakened, while external factors such as the delisting of LRC by some exchanges in 2026 have further accelerated the decision to close the project.

In terms of asset handling, Loopring stated that user funds are safe, and the team will proactively complete asset returns, rather than requiring users to generate Merkle proofs to exit. The official plan is to publish a final balance list in the future, covering ETH, ERC-20 tokens, and AMM liquidity pool positions, which will be automatically converted into corresponding underlying assets. The entire asset distribution is expected to be completed within a few weeks after initiation, and it is hoped that the zero-knowledge proof technology it promoted will continue to be carried forward in other projects.
