Ren Suxi said at a concert, "I hope everyone can live well," but as she spoke, she couldn't help shedding tears. What really made her cry might not be the people in the audience, but the regrets, helplessness, and expectations she had experienced deep in her heart. Every most sincere word a person says is often said to themselves. Comforting others is comforting the past self; encouraging others is encouraging the present self; hoping others live well is often because one knows too well what it feels like to live poorly. Many times, we think we are expressing others or understanding the world, but in fact we are just using others to complete a conversation with ourselves.
