Why does a person remain stagnant for a long time? They want recognition, yet refuse to first become someone they themselves can recognize. They desire wealth, but cannot even persistently complete one small task. They long for success, yet reject long-term accumulation. They hope for stable relationships, but have no ability or responsibility to build a supporting foundation. They have no direction at all, yet blame failure on the meaninglessness of effort. They are highly dependent on others, yet fantasize about absolute freedom. They have not solved today’s problems, yet indulge in daydreams about the future. So, what truly keeps a person stagnant is not a lack of ability, but the contradiction among goals, cognition, and behavior.
