#CLARITYAct ⚖️
Crypto Regulation’s Biggest Test: 60 Votes or Failure?
The critical race to determine the future of the crypto market is accelerating in Washington.
The CLARITY Act, which aims to bring clear rules to the digital asset market in the US, faces pressure to pass the Senate before the August recess. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, crypto policy team member Patrick Witt, and Senator Cynthia Lummis are strongly supporting the bill's progress.
But the real obstacle isn't political pressure.
It's mathematics.
The threshold needed to advance in the Senate:
🔹 60 votes
🔹 Support from Republicans is largely secured
🔹 Still needs about 7 Democrat votes
🔹 Why is the banks' objection important?
At the heart of the debate are stablecoin regulations in particular.
Banks argue that stablecoin yields could increase competition with deposits.
However, assessments prepared by the President's economic advisors questioned some of the banks' main arguments and argued that the impact of stablecoin returns on the banking system was exaggerated.
🔹 Why is the market waiting for this law?
If the CLARITY Act passes:
✅ SEC and CFTC jurisdictional boundaries may become clearer
✅ Legal uncertainty for crypto companies may decrease
✅ Institutional investors' confidence in the US market may increase
✅ A new framework for token classifications may emerge
🔹 Where is the risk?
Time.
The Senate calendar is tightening.
If the law cannot move forward before the August recess, the process may become more difficult due to the election atmosphere. Some analyses suggest that a delay could significantly reduce the likelihood of it being enacted this year.
📊 Market Impact
CLARITY Act:
🇺🇸 Could make the US more competitive in crypto regulation
🏦 Could accelerate Wall Street's entry into digital assets
₿ Could be a catalyst for institutional confidence for Bitcoin and major crypto assets
But failure:
❌ Extends regulatory uncertainty
❌ Could push companies out of the US
❌ Could slow institutional entry
One of the biggest charts the crypto market is currently watching isn't price:
It's the voting pattern in Washington.
If 60 votes are secured, a new era could begin.
If not, the sector could return to a period of uncertainty.
🔥 Do you think the CLARITY Act will pass, or will the US fall behind again in the crypto regulation race?
