#My Gate Trading Moment

Among the countless rounds of buying and selling, there is always one trade that completely reshapes one's personal investment logic. It may not be the most profitable trade, nor the most devastating loss, but it can suddenly enlighten you and help you find a trading rhythm that suits you. I have been actively trading BTC spot and event prediction on the Gate platform. Recently, the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate, with Trump publicly warning Iran that if the Lebanese armed forces keep provoking conflicts, the US strikes will be far more severe than last week. The risk in the Strait of Hormuz is rapidly heating up. Currently, BTC is quoted at $64,513, up only 0.42% in 24 hours, with the market maintaining a cautious and oscillating stance throughout.

Looking back at my trading records, I once followed the hype around popular meme coins, blindly entering heavy positions after seeing short-term consecutive surges. After initial luck-based profits, my mentality inflated drastically; I kept adding positions and expanding my holdings, completely ignoring the project fundamentals and overall market risk. Eventually, the market quickly turned, and not only were all profits wiped out, but my principal also experienced a significant drawdown. This trade was a wake-up call. After that, I adjusted my trading system: strictly batch building positions for spot trading, never exceeding 15% of total assets per position; avoiding frequent opening of contract trades; and setting all take-profit and stop-loss levels in advance.

Recent World Cup matches have seen a series of upsets: Cape Verde held Uruguay to a draw, Iran tied with Belgium, and the prediction market has seen a surge in high-odds outcomes. Many traders around me are eager to jump in for short-term gains. Drawing on my past pitfalls, I have remained rational. Match results are highly unpredictable, and I will not blindly bet on high-odds options just because there have been many upsets. At the same time, there have been frequent on-chain theft incidents recently, with the Taiko treasury and top Ethereum arbitrage bots being hacked one after another, resulting in cumulative losses of millions of dollars. When interacting with contracts on a daily basis, I always repeatedly verify the contract address to avoid asset theft.

Recording my trading experiences on Gate Square is essentially a process of reflection and consolidation after each trade. There is no such thing as a permanently accurate market judgment; only a continuously improving trading system. Here, I also want to offer some advice to newcomers entering the crypto market: The market never lacks trading opportunities. Only by preserving your principal can you establish a long-term foothold. Abandon the speculative mentality of getting rich overnight and build your own trading rules—this is the core foundation for lasting profitability.
